To start using the DAU Key Wallet, you will need an NFC-enabled mobile device and the official DAU Vault App, which you can download from the App Store, Google Play Store or using the APK download link. You can also tap the card on your phone’s NFC module, and you will be prompted to download the DAU Vault App from the store.

To create a new wallet on the DAU Key, follow the steps below:

1. Open the DAU Vault app.

2. Click the menu bar on the top left corner of the screen and click on the + icon next to “My Wallets.”

3. Select “Cold Wallet,” followed by “Create New Wallet”.

4. Tap the card as shown to scan the card.

5. Create a name for your wallet.

6. Create a backup or skip the backup process. Refer to the notes below.

Create backup(s):

7. If you continue to “Add Backup Card”, you will be prompted to scan your original card, followed by your backup card(s). You may add up to two backup cards. You can only use blank DAU Key cards to create a backup. If you try to add a card that has been used to create a wallet, the app will ask you to reset the card and proceed with the backup process. Do not reset the card if the attached card contains funds, as this will result in losing those funds.

Create access code:

8. “Finalize Backup” once you have added your backup cards. You will be prompted to create an access code for your card, for added security. Use any word, phrase, or number as your access code. Note that the same access code will be registered to each card within the set and you will be able to set a unique access code for each card later using the ‘Settings’ on the menu bar.

9. Complete the backup process – you will be prompted to scan your primary card, followed by the backup card(s).

Note regarding the backup process:

• You should be certain of the number of backup copies you want to create of your private key as the backup creation and private key cloning can only be done once. If you only add one backup card now, you will not be able to add more later.

• If you skipped the backup process upon wallet creation, the backup can be completed at a later date through the “Settings” tab on the menu bar: Settings > Card Management > Backup.

• We recommend you create a backup of your wallet to protect your assets.

• The backup can be created on up to two DAU Key cards and all the cards can be used to access our wallet.
