Initially, the DAU Key card does not have a private key. The key is generated when the wallet is created by tapping the card against a mobile device. Note that the public and private keys will be regenerated if you reset the card to factory settings and recreate the wallet.

Additionally, the firmware has undergone independent auditing by the Swiss company Kudelski Security, ensuring the private key is generated using a hardware random number generator, with no other backdoors or bugs that could jeopardize fund security.

Therefore, the manufacturer does not know the private key.
