The backup (private key cloning) process can only be performed once, so it is crucial to decide on the number of cards you wish to generate for your wallet. If backup cards could be linked on multiple occasions, an attacker could make copies of your card without your knowledge.

It is important to note that the cards operate independent of the company's servers, and the private key is copied to the specified number of cards (2 or 3) solely during the backup creation. However, post-backup, any individual in possession of a physical card and its access code has the capability to "remove" any of the cards by resetting them to factory settings, effectively decreasing the total count of operational cards.
